WHAT DID DANYELE SAY?

“My relationship with my body was always a ‘Why me?’ scenario. Why do I have to be this tall? Why can't I be that thin? Why can’t I be slimmer, skinnier, smaller? My want to be good at my sport and my desire to be the best was always tied to my body image as well.”

“For me, I can’t be out here telling women to appreciate their body for where it is right now and all the things I say and promote if I’m not living that same truth myself. One of the things I’ve always said on social media is ‘I have to be honest.’ I cannot be a fraud.”

“The body that you have right now, in this moment, is the body that’s going to get you to where you eventually want to be. So, you better be damn grateful for it.”

“For me, as a female athlete, the ‘Do It For You’ mentality is understanding that you are not competing against anybody else but yourself. You’re not competing against anybody else but the version of you that you were yesterday.”

“I need my calories because I like to feel strong in the gym. I like to train for power. And to get there, to grow physically and mentally in that sense, you need to eat. So, yes, I eat foods that keep me feeling good, but I definitely eat.”

“You would much rather have 2,000 or 10,000 people that really ride for you that you are really helping out and focus all your attention on helping those people grow, helping them live better lives because they will tell other people and you will grow. You just have to stay genuine, stay vulnerable, stay transparent and focus on how you can help others rather than how you can help yourself.”

“Anyone who says they wake up feeling confident every single day is lying to you. Confidence is something you have to practice every single day.” – Sam

“Even on your worst day, there’s always something to be grateful for – even if it’s just the fact that you woke up that day.”
